I could not give exactly 2 weeks notice and I feel awful

I had to leave my job because as a single mom I need more flexibility and wage. I had talked to my boss about more flexibility before but he didnt do anything. The wage part I didnt discuss just because I knew the wage bracket already and how much im askinf is a LOT more, been here for 4 years

Anyways the paperwork took awhile at my new job. So I ended up giving my notice March 29 and my last day Apr8. It was my fault tho- I couldve given it earlier but im such a paranoid person about paperwork

My current boss said he understands my situation, it sucks its a little less than 2 wks notice (not required in contract), wasnt too happy because it wasnt the best timing but I had no choice.. my son needs me asap.

I just feel so awful. Im usually by the book and now i feel so bad ive been throwing up for days.

My new job offers better flexibility and wage. But i cant shake off feeling so bad.
