How do you shop for diapers ? 👀👀🥴

Ok babies grow fast & I never got to the buying diaper stage with my babies so I’m wondering how do you shop for diapers (ex 2pk of size 3 , 2pk of size2 ) ❤️❤️ 
Please help a mama out !! Im 5months Friday and want to start getting diapers !!

Honestly with my daughter we had a diaper raffle and when she would outgrow a certain size and they were from target we would go and exchange them for a bigger size.

Well… I would only worry about getting the first two sizes because with all 4 of my kids (pregnant with my 5th) they went threw a pack in a day and a half. I had people buy size 3 and 4 at my baby shower but I didn’t need them for a while. I needed the smaller ones.

I have a small stockpile of diapers and have 3 small packs of newborn (37 count) and 7 packs of size 1 (44 count). I’ll be getting a couple big boxes of size 2 since that’s what our son was in for a while. I only stuck with the small packs since they are easier to exchange in my opinion. If we had the big boxes then we could be left with quite a few leftover after baby outgrows them and you can’t take back a half used box. I’m also going off of what my son used. I saved one diaper from each size and wrote his age on them as he moved into that size so I have a pretty good idea of when this baby might be in that size.

I was told by other moms and passed on the same advice. Get a sample variety of Newborn diapers and nothing more. Kids will vary in shape and size and sometimes pampers works for one kid but huggies works for another kid. 
We primarily did cloth diapers except for the first month when they were in preemie size. Which we didnt at all anticipate buying.
I bought diapers as needed after birth or had family get them since you just never know what size or shape your kiddo will be when they greet us!

Size 2 was longest for us. One box of NB was plenty but my girl was 8 lbs at birth. She’s been in size 5 foreverrrrr now. But that won’t be until a lot older. 
Also my other random advice, get the nice diapers for the younger sizes When blowouts are more common but after that stage less expensive ones work just as well since it’s usually just pee.

I think I bought 1 box of newborns and that was it 🤣 never know how your baby will react to the diapers you buy. After he was born and the diapers were good we kind of just bought as we went. He was small so I think it ended up being 4 or 5 boxes of newborn. Size nb and size 2 were the longest phase for us. Size 1 and 3 were fast maybe a box each.

I have a bunch of leftover diapers for my daughter so I will use those up and by as needed, 1/2-full case of each size from when she outgrew them. With her we didn’t stick up ahead of time because we didn’t know what brand would be best for her and what sizes to stock up on, and I specifically didn’t want a diaper raffle at my shower. I didn’t want to have to deal with storing them or returning ones we didn’t use. The only diapers i bought ahead of time was a small pack of newborn in several brands so we could see what worked best for her, basically every brand target had when I went. What I have seen others do and to me makes more sense is buy gift cards to whatever store they would buy their diapers from and then use them as needed. For the first year we got all of our diapers from amazon on subscribe and save which was 20% off then used the diaper discount from our registry which was another 20% off. I will probably do the same this time then start getting them from Sams club.

I am doing the same thing I did with my first daughter. One pack of newborn, 2 boxes of size 1, 2 boxes of size 2, 2 boxes of size 3 and 4 bulk boxes of wipes because you’ll need those no matter what. All the boxes I get are the big ones from Costco. They allow exchanges if you end up needing to switch size/ brand but I felt like that was a good stock.

With our 1st we were in size 1 and 2 for a while. 3 & 4 went by semi quick for us. She is 19 months and just went to size 5 she could still fit in a 4 but the grandparents watch her during the day and they struggle when she is wiggly. She was 6lbs 11oz when she was born but lost down to 6lbs 1oz. You can always exchange for bigger sizes. Just get a gift receipt and tape it to the box so you don’t lose it.

Following! I'm 21 weeks and started buying diapers. I have an upto 10lbs newborn pack, two boxes of size 1 diapers, and 1 box of size 3 (was a gift). I want to see which size people needed more.
