I have a friend who every time I FaceTime her or she FaceTimes me always has her gaming headset on. It makes our conversations so weird and distant because she is looking at me but having a conversation with her other gaming friends through her headset. I love her and we have so much in common but I feel like I can’t say anything to her when she’s has on the headset because I have said things multiple times trying to start a conversation and she doesn’t even hear me and just starts talking to her other friends. We end up just sitting in awkward silence because of this. It’s so rude. I get that you have other friends and want to talk to them but can’t you just take a few minutes to actually listen to what I have to say? It makes me feel so secluded. I don’t want to speak because I’m afraid I’ll interrupt whatever conversation might be going on in your ears but at the same time if you call me, why aren’t you actually talking to me. It’s so awkward and rude. I don’t need all of your time but some of it, even for a few minutes, just you and me talking and no one else, would be nice. And it would also be fine if others where involved in our conversations but it would be nice if I could hear them too so it’s not so one sided. I’m not someone who needs your everlasting attention but a few moments of it would be great.
