Membrane sweep?

39 weeks and doc said they can do a membrane sweep at my appointment tomorrow if I want. Has anyone had this done? Did it bring on labor sooner? Recommend? 
Update: cervix wasn’t dilated enough to do the sweep today. She said they could try next week at my 40 week appointment. Fingers crossed my body does it’s own thing between now and then!

It worked for me . I had mine the night before I turned 40 weeks. Baby was born on due date

I had it done twice, but it did not work for me.  I will be skipping it this time around.

I had one done at 38 weeks. Had it done on a Thursday and Saturday my water broke. I think it just depends on you and how ready your body js

I did it at 38w6d and it did nothing but hurt. Maybe a little spotting but my boy was born 39w6d
