OPK used to detect early pregnancy?

Has anyone ever used an opk to test for pregnancy? My period is due tomorrow but I’ve been feeling crampy in one of my hips which was exactly how I felt when I was very early pregnant with our daughter. Hubs and I BD’d the both the two days before my ovulation day so it is possible (hoping so!) but I wanted to see if anyone has had LH strips successfully detect it. Picture of my LH strip from just now, on less than a 4hr hold and it’s darker than when I ovulated.

Opks do not determine nor confirm pregnancy! You should never use an opk to test for pregnancy, that’s not what they are for. LH fluctuates throughout your cycle and most women have a surge prior to their periods. You would need to use an actual pregnancy test designed to detect the pregnancy hormone to confirm pregnancy. Yes, an opk can be positive if hCG is high enough. But still can not go off an opk alone. I’m sorry.

OPK’s can’t be used in lieu of pregnancy tests. The only way to test for and confirm pregnancy is via HPT, blood test or ultrasound. OPK’s are only supposed to be used to help pinpoint ovulation, by detecting a surge in LH, and shouldn’t be used at just any random point of your cycle. It’s also extremely common for LH to temporarily surge due to a secondary Estrogen surge during the mid-later part of the Luteal phase. You just have to take a pregnancy test.

When I was pregnant with my son I used my opk's to see if it could pick up hcg, and it did only thing I already knew I was pregnant had an ultrasound and confirmed pregnancy with my obgyn. Because I was extremely pregnant the test line took all the dye you could barely see the control line a dye stiller on a opk lol, but as for using it to see if you are pregnant take a pregnant test and if you want to test using the opk for your hypothesis then by all means have fun I did.

You can have lh surges before your period as well so it isn't an indicator of pregnancy unfortunately

You can have surges before your menstrual but when I was pregnant I took both to see and OPKs were very positive next to my pregnancy tests. Best wishes to you!!
