Anyone with Preeclampsia?

Question

I just found out today that I’m at risk for preeclampsia and now need to get NST’s twice a week to monitor my blood pressure. Just wondering if anyone has had experience with preeclampsia and if you ended up needing to be induced?

With my first I began developing it at about 32-33 weeks. Once I hit 36 weeks it was getting higher and they chose to induce once my blood pressure was 170/110 and I refused to have them just send me home. After 3 days of induction I ended up with a C-section. I spent about 4 days in the hospital following delivery because they still couldn’t get my blood pressure down. Eventually I left with blood pressure medication, but was off it within 3 weeks. My second pregnancy I was put on baby aspirin daily and never developed it. So far I’m almost 35 weeks and haven’t had any signs with.

Yes I had preeclampsia this time around. I was diagnosed at 34+3 weeks during an ultrasound appointment (high bp and protein in urine) and had an emergency c-section the same day. That was on April 5th, and baby boy has been very healthy in the NICU since then. I’m on bp medication for now and baby boy is scheduled to come home on Easter Sunday!

Had preeclampsia with my first-induced at 37 weeks. Perfectly healthy baby. I’ve been monitored my whole second pregnancy. I’m 37 weeks tomorrow-scheduling an induction for the next week or two. Not sure when. My dr is really pushing me to go as long as possible. But I have swelling, protein in urine, and high blood pressure. It’s been frustrating fighting with her. She doesn’t want to induce me until I hit 160/100. I’m sitting around 150/100. Like why wait for worst case scenario?! Just frustrating.

I had with baby 1 - high Bp and protein in my urine at my 36 week apt. Was then induced at 37 weeks exactly. Needed magnesium during birth to meet my Bp down but delivered after about 20 hours without C-section. Needed magnesium about 24 hours after birth too. Was terrible stuff! 
Baby 2 I had pre-e that showed right at my 37 week apt and needed to be induced right away but was super minor and didn’t need magnesium and had a quick and healthy baby and birth.  Currently at 34 weeks with baby 3 and no signs yet but I had no symptoms and perfect BP for both my other pregnancies until it was caught at 36/37 weeks too so we will see! Best of luck!

I developed PE at 36 weeks, but I was having horrible swelling for months leading up to the diagnosis. I’m assuming NSTs were next for me; I was supposed to go back to my OB the next day for more tests, but I never made it. I ended up going to L&D late that night with BP over 160/90 & upper right quadrant pain & they decided to induce. Unfortunately, they also put me on magnesium to prevent seizures & it basically sabotaged the induction. After 48 hours, I ended up having a c-section. Baby was in the NICU for 3 days to purge the mag from his system & help his lungs & we were discharged on the same day. He’s 19 months old now, happy & healthy. I’m now 37 weeks with twins & I’ve had no signs of PE, which is absolutely amazing.
