Notice

I’m at a bit of a cross roads. I recently put my notice in at my job. I was being harassed and I’ve gotten covid twice since I started working there because they allow people to come to work when they have symptoms without testing. It’s one of those jobs that I’m really the only person that knows what I do all day and am really the only person who can train my replacement, so I gave them an adequate 2 month notice (about 3 weeks ago) so they had time to hire someone and I could train them. This was one of the reasons I left, because the person before me left with no notice and I didn’t have adequate training. My friends and boyfriend have told me that that is more then they deserve but it helps me sleep at night.

Now, I still have to find another job and I had an interview today and it went really well, seemed like a good environment, good pay, etc. and I think they’re going to give me an offer. The only caveat is they want me to start in 2 weeks, and I still have 5 weeks left of my notice at my previous job and they still haven’t even begun to start the hiring process.

How can I shorten my notice without leaving them high and dry?
