Should I pump while I breastfeed?

New to breastfeeding here and I have a 4 day old baby boy. I prefer doing one feed on one boob and then the next feed on the other boob because he’s still learning how to latch and I HATE breaking his good latches. Should I start pumping on the boob he isn’t eating off of while i’m feeding right now or is it too soon? Would it make it to where during my next feed he isn’t getting enough off the other boob? I feed him about every 2-2.5 hours.

Way too soon. Don’t pump until 6 weeks. If you’re leaking and want to catch letdown, use a haaka on the other side.

Well it all depends on you mama !! Some times occasionally I pump my other one while baby eats on my other one.. but usually she goes to both or my other 12 month old baby takes that one 😭 ..

I like a little over supply. I would pump once or twice a day if I felt full.

Don't pump, if you don't need to go to work or something yet.
Feeding on one breast is also ok. If baby is full after it, don't worry. Usually women need to switch because baby needs the amount from two.
I rarely switched, because my son ate on, was full and never took another (maybe at times of clusterfeeding, but not often). So I always fed one feed on one breast, another one on second breast. Also his weight gain was really good and there were no worries.
So just sain, it is possible and ok, but if weight problems arize, I would try to add second breast to the game.
