Will a doctor cut a tongue tie? Or just a dentist??

Any experiences getting tongue ties fixed after 8 weeks? I’m not sure if our pediatrician will, but I’ll ask at our next appointment? How was recovery? Was breastfeeding immediately improved?

I would definitely recommend you go to a pediatric dentist who specializes in it and had good reviews. My IBCLC sent me tô get the procedure done at 8 weeks and the pediatric dentist instead gave me exercises to do and told me she thought my baby’s case would fix itself. At 11 weeks now, it totally has. I’m glad I didn’t get the procedure done if I didn’t need it, and a provider less skilled in this area may have done it unnecessarily. My girl just needed some time for her mouth to grow pretty much

Some pediatricians do but I’m not sure they’d do it that late because babe is so much more active and aware then they were in those first weeks. The bigger they get the more likely they are to need general anesthesia.
