C section mamas - did doctors use staples or stitches for the top layer?

Research says best outcomes hands down are stitches. Doctors prefer staples bc it’s easier and faster. I’m going to request stitches if I have to get a c section. 
In the largest study to date comparing sutures (stitches) versus surgical staples for closing a C-section, researchers found a 57 percent decrease in wound complications in women who were sutured versus those who received staples. 
The president of the US Maternal Fetal Medicine Society has made the official recommendation that stitches be used for a woman’s best health outcome.
Mamas don’t be afraid to ask for evidence-based interventions!

I had dissolvable staples on the inside layer, sterry strips on the outside and I’d assume glue 🙊 my scar looks so nice

Staples both times because I have a blood disorder that prevents me from clotting correctly, and if they had to reopen they wanted to be able to reopen as little as possible. I had them in for 7 days each time and had the pressure dressing for 4, which isn’t the norm. Internally, they stitched though.

The surgeon who did my c-section discussed with me the procedure and then asked me if I would be okay with them closing the incision with surgical glue & I told them that was fine with me .

I had staples that they removed before I left the hospital. They were in for about 48 hours and then they put tape over the incision and that stayed on for about a week.
