Hcg levels increasing, decreasing, increasing
**let me just preface this by saying that regardless of any responses I get, I will be following up with my doctor on Monday. I just got my results today so unfortunately I couldn’t speak to anyone.
Also, I apologize if this is the incorrect group to post this. I wasn’t sure where to post.
I found out via blood work on April 9th that I was pregnant. I took a trip to the Er with severe pain and that is how I found out. My hcg was 305. Because of the pain I was experiencing, the possibility of an ectopic pregnancy came into play and I had blood work done again 48 hours later and my levels had doubled. This was done at the ER. The next day I had an appointment with my OB where she had my blood drawn again. She told me that since it was only 24 hours later and they have a slightly different lab, the results would only be around 700/800. They were 927. 48 hours later, they were 1127. So they had still increased but stopped doubling. That day I started having really heavy bleeding and bad cramps (I had spotted all week) so I ended up at the ER Saturday morning. My hcg had gone down to 862 and I was sent home with a threatened miscarriage. I had to go back this last Friday (April 22nd) to make sure my levels were decreasing, and they were up to over 2,000. I have no idea what to expect when I talk to my OB Monday. Anyone ever had this happen, and what was the outcome? Good or bad.
When I went to the Er this last time, there was a gestational sac that measured at 5w3d (I thought I was barely
3 weeks going off my period, but either the period I thought I had wasn’t actually my period, orrrrr something) and ectopic had been ruled out.
Here is a better timeline of my levels and the dates-
April 9th- 305
April 11th- 677
April 12th- 921
April 14th- 1127
April 16th- 862
April 22nd- 2198
