I’ve seen so many different spellings and pronunciations that it sort of scares me away from the name. How would you pronounce each one?  CAL (like California) or CALL (like a phone call) or KAY, etc?

If there's 2 L's (like Callen) then I pronounce it CAL like California.
If there's 1 L (like Calen) then i pronounce it Kay-lynn 
I've never seen it pronounces CALL (like I'll call you later)

This is actually my sons name … we spell it Callen and pronounce it Cal (like California) en (like the letter N). There is a character on “NCIS Los Angeles” who is named agent Callen and he spells and pronounces it the same way. It helped give me the confidence that the name isn’t TOO uncommon.
