First time momma any advice?

Hi guys I’m 18 I’m a first time mom I’m just finding out I am 13 weeks and a few days is there anything to prepare myself for and anything you guys feel like I should need and any guesses on boy or a girl? This is my 11week ultrasound and they said my baby is measuring a week bigger (which is okay and they reassured me)

I was a first time mom at 17, my advice follow your doctors advice and try not to over eat and just gain the recommend weight. Do a Lamaze class or parenting class. Try not to read too much about pregnancy and child birth. Also don’t be afraid of an epidural, sometimes they are necessary.

It doesn’t matter your age, every first time mama is new, a level of oblivious 😅, and figuring things out 💗 so don’t let that scare you! However, I will say being prepared for basic baby care/newborn basic safety and talking to other veteran moms about what the newborn phase was like will give you at least an idea. But always know that every baby is different. And don’t be afraid to ask questions and get help once baby is here.
As far as advice for things you need, maybe this was just me. But I bought like zero newborn clothes for my first. My husband and I were 9-10 lb babies, and I always heard everyone say they didn’t need a lot of newborn clothes, so apparently I took that as needing like, none 🤪 but my daughter was not big and under 7 pounds, so she wore newborn clothes for about a month. If you have a baby under 9lbs, assume you will need newborn sleepers, and onesies 😅 also also, you’ll have a winter baby, so don’t buy short sleeve newborn onesies (unless you live somewhere warm, then maybe you’ll use them). Just stick with the long sleeve 👌🏻

I’m a first time mom, I’m 21. The age doesn’t matter. Do not let people tell you your life is “over”. I feel my life has only gotten better since I gave birth to my daughter 4 months ago. It’s like you always have a buddy to go places with you all the time. 
Don’t let the older people give you unsolicited advice, unless you ask for it. That was my biggest pet peeve. I like to figure things out on my own, and if I ask for advice then I really have either tried everything or just can’t seem to figure it out. I’ve asked for advice 1 time since she was born. 
The motherly instinct just came automatically to me as soon as they put her on my chest when she was born. You’ll definitely have doubts if you’re a “good” mom, I did and still do. But, ALWAYS have a support system you can fall back on, and trust 100%. It helps tremendously. 
If you choose to breastfeed, do not let anybody change your mind. And if you’re a person that just can’t produce, or just can’t for other reasons in general, formula feeding is still okay! I have guilt every single day, because I couldn’t breastfeed I didn’t have ppd but I just had the baby blues, and I wasn’t producing very much, and my baby did have a hard time latching due to a tongue tie. I did pump, I gave her colostrum, I gave her my milk up till I couldn’t anymore. One day my supply just plummeted. But, a fed baby, no matter how they’re fed, is always a happy baby. 
Do not let people walk all over you, set boundaries!! You are the mom, you’re in charge. The only one to protect your little bundle of joy is you. Do not let them tell you how to parent, dress, or care for your baby. That is your job, not theirs. If you have to make people angry for setting boundaries, let them be angry. Let them be childish. At the end of the day, it’s you who is bringing a baby into this world. It’s you who is giving life. You’re the one going to have to go through the hours of labor, the pain, all of that. You are the momma. Do not let people walk all over you. Never. Don’t be afraid to put your foot down. Be mean if you have to be. It is YOUR baby. 
Once you get into labor and delivery, have who you want in the room with you at all times. You do not have to update of what’s going on to anybody. You can let everyone know what’s going on, when you’re ready to. Don’t let anybody pressure you. I kept my labor and delivery hush hush. We wanted to focus on our Gil, and our girl only. I labored for 12 hours, around 6 cm I decided to get the epidural. If you need to get it, and you feel like you need to. GET THE EPIDURAL. Don’t listen to a word anybody says. I got rest while having the epidural, you’ll need rest. You don’t get any in the hospital. I signed a paper at my hospital where I gave birth that says they couldn’t disclose any information of me, my fiancé, or my baby being there. I had people calling asking about me, my fiancé, and my daughter. Right after I had her. They told them we were not there. That was my choice. I wanted time to enjoy my little family I had just made. I wanted to watch my fiancé become a dad for the first time without anybody texting or calling 24/7. I wanted to watch myself become a mother for the first time, in privacy. It’s okay! 
All in all, this is your experience. This is your time to shine. Don’t let anybody steal your shine. This is your baby, and your baby only. Enjoy it. You’ll think you have all this time, but time is priceless. I feel like I just had her not too long ago, and she just turned 4 months on the 1st. I feel like I was robbed of enjoying my newborn. It went by so fast. I miss her being the small little 6 pound 5 ounce little baby she was. 🥺 enjoy it, every single minute of it.

Girl I’m in the same position as you! I’m 19 and absolutely clueless. I cannot wait to find out gender and with knowing baby is due in November I definitely know I’m going to want to a lot of warm clothes and blankets. I can’t wait to meet baby! If you ever just wanna talk we definitely can!
