When did you move your baby out of your bedroom?

I’m thinking about putting my 5 months old in her own bed in her own room. But I’m not sure about it. She still wants to eat 2-3 times at night. I hope she might reduce it to once a night when she’s in her own room. 
Any advice?

We moved her out at 5 months old.she woke us up and we woke her up. Everyone slept better so it was win win!

3 months with our first. He was sleeping through the night and we were just disturbing his sleep too much. He started sleeping 12 hour stretches once he was in his own room. 6 months with our second, only because we didn't have a room for him until then (we moved) and he began to sleep much better as well.

So I just read something last night saying that part of the reason that keeping baby in the room with mom or mom & dad gives baby a better chance of not passing due to sids. Experts don’t know what causes sids, but some think that the noise of parents being in the room keeps baby from sleeping too deeply. And a potential tragedy is avoided hopefully. My son stayed in the room with us for his first year of life. Sids is more common with little boys than girls too fyi. I was a bit paranoid and wouldn’t have slept well if my baby was even a room away. My sleep disruption for a few month out of my life were no big deal. Esp if it’s keeping by baby as safe as possible. My son also was sleeping through the night by 3 months old. And he’s always been a great sleeper since then. He was in his crib of course in our room just to be clear.

It’s actually recommended that baby sleep in your room until 1 year. The reason being is your more likely to hear or notice if baby became ill or stopped breathing. There is a lot that can be missed on a monitor.

My first was 2 weeks old.  We very obviously bothered him and no one was sleeping.  We put him in his room with a video monitor and he instantly slept soooooooo much better.   My second child was in our room until he was a little over 4 months at which point again us just moving around seemed to disturb him so we moved him to his own room and he started sleeping better again

My son outgrew his bassinet at 5m and we have a very old house so fitting the crib in our bedroom wasn’t an option. We transitioned him to his room at that point but sleep in the guest room right next door. We plan to stay in that room until he turns one at the end of June.

Wanted to do so at 6 months at the earliest, but handled the sleep regression at 4 months not well and put him in his own room then. Will see when we move our second to her own room (now 3 months and sleeping in ours)

6 weeks. She was so noisy she was keeping us awake. We all ended up sleeping better once she moved and at 8 weeks she started to sleep 12+ hours a night
