Is bbt always accurate?

Last month, I ovulated on CD 18 and this month, Fertility Friend has marked CD 8 as ovulation based on temps. I haven't been taking opks cause I didn't expect to ovulate this early. Also haven't been BD'ing due to yeast infection from taking meds for an infected tooth 😔

With the method I use, you need three temperatures that are higher than your previous 6, which you don’t have here yet. And the third high temp needs to be at least 0.4 degrees above the 6 temps. I am not sure how the FF algorithm interprets charts, but based on what you have right now I would not say you ovulated. I would highly recommend learning an FAM method so you can interpret your charts without an app bc I think an app isn’t going to be all that accurate. Good luck!

Here’s a picture of one of my TTA charts so you can see the three highs thing. The three circled temps are higher than any of the previous 6 temps. The lower yellow line shows the highest level of any of the previous 6 temps and the higher yellow line is 0.4 above the first line. The third circled temp is over that second yellow line, so I have confirmed ovulation.

My ob said BBT can be very tricky to do completely accurate, but it can be very accurate when done correctly. There are so many things that go into it. Are you a mouth breather? Do you sleep uninterrupted? Did you move too much before temping? I ended up buying a wearable thermometer because I am an awful sleeper and tend to mouth breathe at night.
