Keeping the Peace

Would you apologize to someone who had insulted you, just to keep the peace and end an argument?

My father said some really insulting and disrespectful things to me after we had a disagreement of opinions, and he has always been this way and I know fighting with him will change nothing. I’m considering just apologizing for disagreeing with him and then keeping our contact as infrequent and superficial as possible.

I’m 14 weeks pregnant with my second, and our argument has been taking a physical toll on my health. I just want it to be over at this point.
