Hospital Scare after spotting with Placenta Previa
Im 24 weeks and I just made it home from 3 days at the hospital. Baby and I are both fine but what a scary, overwhelming experience. Friday night I experienced some bright red spotting and have complete placenta previa and suspected accreta so they told me to come in with any bleeding.
It was a roller coaster from there, to at first not thinking I’d have to stay, then to getting steroid shots and iv’s put in in case I’d have to do an emergency c-section. Then I was told I’d have to stay for a week, and some nurses saying maybe until delivery. Thankfully I didn’t have any more bleeding and everything seemed stable and ultrasound looked good so they let me go after 72 hours.
So overwhelming and draining though and I was not expecting it. Sounds like I will not have a September baby anymore. I was due 9/5 but sounds like They won’t let me go past 36 weeks and will have to plan on a c-section and possible hysterectomy 32-36 weeks. That would’ve been more scary but after this weekend now I just want baby to make it to at least 32 weeks with no unexpected bleeding and emergency operation.
If you’ve read this far thank you, I’m just needed to vent to other moms who are more likely to get what I’m going through. Hoping you all are having healthy and happy pregnancy.
