Does Charlie make you first think of a boy name or a girl short for Charlotte?

I’ve always loved the name Charlie for a boy but I’m turned off by the number of people doing it as a girl nickname to Charlotte - it’s cute, I get it, I just try to avoid popular names so it’s cramping my style 😜 I’m curious to hear your initial thought.

Without knowing if you were referring to a boy or girl I would automatically assume boy, but my cousin is Charlotte and we always called her Charlie when she was little, now at 17 she usually prefers Charlotte. One family called her Chuck, and i have always called her Chicken Little though.

Looove this post! Charlie is our top boy name (short for charles) We have a family fiend with a girl Charlie so my family keeps saying it is a "female" name. I think that is just silly. Other momma and myself both see is as an either or name. Keeping Charlie at the top off our list for sure 😊 hope this helps 💙
