Tranexamic acid

I have deal with heavy heavy period. Last month my doctor prescribed Tranexamic acid. The doctor prescribe it for my to take 6 pills per day at the start of the period. I only took a total of 4 pills total. The pills really upset my stomach so I stopped taking them. This month I haven’t had a full on period I just have some craps and a little bit of spotting. I’m not pregnant there’s no chances of that. I’m thinking the medication messed with my cycle a bit. My periods are usually right on time never a day last. Has anyone ever experienced this when taking tranexamic acid? Does it completely mess up the cycle?
