Spotting/ late period

Hey guys , so I was suppose to start my period on the 24th and I had bright red and pink spotting when I wiped so I thought my period started and then all yesterday there was nothing until last night I had the spotting again but only when I wiped. I took a test yesterday but it was negative. I also have been having some cramping and like sharp pains. Normally I don’t spot when I start my period so I don’t know what’s going on. What do you guys think or suggest ?
