Gotta rant because I’m sick of it

Stop sticking your nose and two cents into places where you are not educated. When it comes to how the wildlife professionals are doing their job, which sometimes includes taking care of a species population control, if you are not educated in this field of study don’t tell us we are being cruel!! You don’t realize the damage that certain species is causing that environment. When certain species gets out of control it can cause chaos and environmental loss and damage beyond repair if it is not controlled. We do try our best to do what’s best for the environment and what may look cruel to outsiders eyes is not in anyway cruel or harmful to that animal or species. Leave the professionals alone to do their job. Please stop telling us we are being cruel by tranquillizing or trapping the animals to relocate them or care for them or whatever it is that we have to do. While it may look cruel and awful to see the animal unconscious in a cage (if you happen to witness this), and/or even tied up within the cage, this is not cruelty! This is for the safety of both the people involved and the animal itself. I have seen and heard way to much of this lately. People trying to tell the trained professionals like myself that we are being cruel when we are not. Listen, it’s okay to have your opinions and it’s okay to think that what we do looks cruel but until you know the facts and until you have done the years of college and training to be in that persons shoes and know exactly how dangerous that animal is, then don’t come at me or others saying we are being cruel. If you don’t specialize in this field of study then don’t say we are being cruel! That’s like coming to your place of work and telling you that what you’re doing looks cruel or in someway wrong and inhumane. It isn’t right to tell someone just doing their job that what they are doing is cruel. If you don’t understand what’s going on, deeply and truly, and if you are not educated in that certain field of study DON’T SAY WE ARE BEING CRUEL! Some of y’all are just not cut out for this and that’s okay. Helping wildlife and the environment isn’t always for the untrained eye and can cause this outburst of people say how cruel it is or how cruel it looks. But I’m going to say it one more time and this goes for every field of study that exists, if you do not specialize or have lots of knowledge on that field of study, do not tell those people they are being cruel/doing it wrong. You do not know enough about it to say so otherwise. Sorry for the long post. As a wildlife biologist I have to rant about this because it’s been getting on my nerves how many people have been telling me and others this. It needs to stop.
