Armpit still stinks after washing and shaving?

I went through a period of depression and didn’t shower for days on end. Now I finally showered with warm water and exfoliated and shaved my armpits but the smell is still there and it’s driving me crazy. It’s not my diet. My hands are wrinkly from the amount of antibacterial soap and shampoo I used on my armpits. Does it mean that the soap isn’t killing the bacteria? Or is it just a smell? It’s slightly less noticeable but it’s still there and I know it’ll start smelling more when I sweat. Do I put deodorant on my irritated skin from exfoliation and shaving? Or will it make things worse? Thanks all.

Make a paste with baking soda and water leave it on for 5 minutes it's like an exfoliant but also helps balance the ph level. If you do this once a week eventually you won't even need deodorant.

Can I do this if my skin is irritated from shaving or do I need to what?

I would hold off on putting anything else on your armpits right now if they are feeling irritated. Sometimes when we are stressed out our sweat can smell a little more pungent or worse. It has nothing to do with cleanliness. Since you are coming out of a period of depression, which can be very stressful, this might be what’s going on. I would, if you can, just be gentle with yourself today, take it easy, drink lots of water & the smell that you are sensitive right now should clear in a couple of days.

How are they irritated..? And I’d hold off but maybe shower again tmmr and wash again lightly. Then put on deodorant. You can google ways of helping get away the Oder but if it persists maybe see a dr.

Could be fungal. Scrub with lemon and baking soda. Shave only with coconut oil. Most popular deodorants/antiperspirants clog the glands in the armpits over time. Which causes more sweat and BO. People usually just buy a stronger deodorant instead of doing an armpit detox.
