did anyone refuse the shot, vitK or the eye ointment ?

just curious i wasn’t aware these would be done after birth and wondering why people would refuse them ?

I denied all the shots and the bath but did the blood test and hearing test . There’s a reason babies are born with the amount of vitamin k in their system , I don’t have anything wrong down there so I didn’t see the point in the eye ointment , and I personally don’t think newborn babies should be pumped full of chemicals and drugs right away . I’ve been doing research about it all and it’s changed my mind about it .

We refused all of them. Son is now 3 daughter is 2.5. After researching myself is the reasons we declined. But if you’re comfortable giving them, then I say go for it!

No hep B or eye ointment - actually my midwife discouraged me from getting it. You can have either 1 shot or 3 doses of oral vit K. So I thought the shot would be less hassle. Bath is not necessary. All the venix gets absorbed into the skin and prevents it from getting dry.

We declined the hep b, but opted for the other things they did (except a bath). 
The hep b isn’t necessary at birth unless you or someone who will be around the baby has hep b or isn’t vaccinated for it. We did do it (and all over vaccines) on time and aligned with the recommended schedule,
The only person who ever mentioned is skipping it was the pediatrician, he was kind of annoyed but he understood and was also the one who told us we weren’t missing out/doing harm by skipping it at birth. 
I’m glad we did the heel prick, that’s how we found out her bilirubin was high (and had to get it checked a few more times after leaving).

I refused eye ointment with every one of my babies. . I never refused vitK. VitK helps with clotting. If baby has any injuries from birth or any bleeds administering it at birth prevents possible life threatening situations and potentially prevent deaths.
