What meat to use with spreadable cheese?

Jessica

I really want something good with my spreadable cheese. I usually like to use salamis but I am pretty particular with not eating that stuff until after birth. Is there ANY meat I can eat that would be okay for pregnancy? That I can spread my cheese on? We usually like to use meat instead of crackers but I may have to use crackers lol (I use it like an appy like charcuterie)

You could opt to heat the meat and use it anyway, just to be extra safe. Other than that, what about maybe using fruit or veggies?

i don’t think there are any lunch meats that are “risk free”. i’ve been eating my spreadable cheese with pretzels!

I’ve had so many issues with pregnancies it scares me to do anything it says is a “risk”. That’s why I am looking for other things. I am def gonna have a good ol salami sandwich after tho!!

Turkey jerky. At least the turkey jerky we get is soft enough to work.

If you are choosing to avoid deli meats then there’s really no replacements for them that I can think of? You can use crackers, pretzels, veggies to dip. The risk of listeria is higher from lettuce than deli meats. You can heat up your salami prior to eating if you want, that further reduces risk.

You could boil some chicken breast, once cold, shred it and mix it with your spreadable cheese. Then you can keep it in the fridge, for whenever you fancy it. It is nice with the herby spreadable cheeses.
