What color do you think her eyes are going to be?

My daughter is 8 months she has a dark circle on the edges of her eyes that look blue in most lights and sometimes grey but they are brown in the middle. Is this normal for them to be like this? And what color would you say they will be when she gets older?

This is called central cheterochromia. It is genetic treat. Her eyes will remain the same forever at this age. I was born with green eyes from parents one blue eyed one green eyed and grandparents blue and grey eyed. I think my great-grandmother had brown eyes. Anyhow my green eyes developed this around a year old. I am 41 now and I have this to different degree in both eyes. Amber ring followed by my father's grey colour. In one eye the Amber yellow ring is bigger than another. Blue eyes are absent of pigment and it is recessive trait meaning usually both parents are blue grey ayed. The brown pigment is dominant so usually you either have BB for brown or Bb for green. However sometimes the second B gene does not activate fully so this results in partially green or partially blue eye and partially yellow or Amber pigment. It is inherited only genetically so someone from your family had brown eyes and the specific brown gene that did not activate fully. It is rare but beautiful.
