How to manage new born baby sleep cycle?.

Just go with the flow , don’t try to “train” or fight it

Don’t try and train baby…. It’s a baby… co sleeping saved my sanity. I strongly suggest looking into safe co sleeping practices and doing it. I am a person that needs to sleep to function, so if baby only can sleep in my arms, well damnit that is where she will sleep lol no need for you or baby to suffer, life will sort itself out eventually. We tend to try and plan and set times and set schedules , but for things like this, it will not work.

We have a co-sleeping bassinet attached to the side of the bed, which is great for night feeding (I'm breastfeeding). But when baby is really struggling to sleep I turn on the heater (it's winter here), take the blankets and pillows off the bed, send my husband to the spare room, strip baby down to his nappy, take off my shirt, and settle baby on my chest. He'll calm down from the skin to skin and once he's drifted off I can easily move him into a safe co-sleeping position while maintaining some skin to skin contact. We need to do this about once a week. 
Be ready to try lots of different things and don't expect the same thing to work every time. Make sure you read the safe sleep guidelines before trying to co-sleep. Good luck!

sleep when baby sleeps! don’t wait until night thinking you’ll get a full nights rest, you won’t most of the time, so if you sleep when your baby does it’ll let you get so much more sleep, i went with my sons schedule
