They issued an attorney's letter on us!!

Guys. This is WILD.

So a few months ago we let our landlord, who happens to be a family member, come stay here for a bit. I remember I posted about it because I was upset that they were bringing up how we are just letting the house go to ruin the minute they got here (even though THEY are the landlord, and we did actually do some repairs but we're not going to put ourselves so out of pocket for them).

After they came in here, they started citing that this is THEIR house, they're not going to leave, we are awful, blaaaaaa. And I must tell you for as long as they've been here, they themselves have not done a STITCH of repairs. I digress.

Tensions have been high, everyone has been miserable and we have actually been looking to move for about three months now but the property market is TOUGH. Too many lookers, too few options.

Regardless, we thought we had a pretty decent, mutual "I'm ignoring you" situation going on. We've continued to pay the rent, I mean we weren't trying to get ourselves into that kind of trouble.

GUYS. I GOT ISSUED WITH A NOTICE TO VACATE THE PROPERTY TODAY. Reason? Oh the living situation isn't desirable for the landlord. Excuse me?!?!?!!?!?!?!!!!!!

How crazy is that?

No lease anymore, it lapsed so we've been on a month to month since. So we have no choice but to go, but like, gosh slip us a note under our door or something first, you know. Don't just spring an attorney's letter on us!! Give us notice before you go make us seem like douches to a legal firm.

They were supposed to give us notice, before going to get a final note to vacate. They didn't do that, they're not adhering to the rental act.
