Birth control?

Question

I'm curious on what you ladies have taken, which birth control was best for you and why? I am currently pregnant with my 4th child and am pretty positive I do not want any more kids. I've been looking at forms of birth control lately and they all seem pretty horrible with the side effects. The only thing that I have had was the pill and I hated it but none of the other forms seem any better. Suggestions?!

Mirena IUD. You can have it in for up to 8 years. I had mine in for 7 years. Just had it taken out yesterday. Hardly had periods for the first 5 years and when I did it has only been spotting to where I would wear a panty liner for a couple days. Never got pregnant on it and never used any other method of birth control. I didnt even know it was in when I got it first inserted (when u have kids it is usually painless with some cramping after). And when I got it removed it was about 10 seconds of some cramping and that was it. I have 2 other close friends who also have it and recommend as well.

The hormones in most bc do not react well with my body, and I’m absolutely terrified of something like an iud that I can’t remove myself if it’s not going well. My partner and I also agree that we’re done, and he’s getting a vasectomy since it’s the least invasive non-hormonal and permanent form of birth control.
For now, we’re using condoms and FAM
