Ricardo is starting headstart in August (YAAYY) but I wanna hear what you mamas would do if you were in a similar position. If yall could please please please read through and let me know your opinions or advice.

He’s been accepted to 2 schools (both city public schools). One is a 3min drive from our house and would be 12-3:30pm Monday through Friday.

Pros:

•Short class which is awesome in case he doesn’t do well with the transition

•Very close to our house, I could even walk when it’s nice out

•Brand new school

Cons:

•None?

Second one is a 10min drive, 8am-3pm Monday through Friday and it’s supposedly “Montessori”.

(I say “” because all Montessori schools usually require a pretty hefty tuition fee, yet this one is free and public? Idk to me that doesn’t add up)

Pros:

•It’s an all day program which is great because it’d be like free daycare and I’d only have sissy (4m) to care for during the day

•If it truly is Montessori, that is exactly what I want for him!!

Cons:

•Bad neighborhood

•He’s not used to being away from me for long hours so an all day program could potentially be a problem

•He’d be the only kid of a different race/ethnicity (This could go be a good or a bad thing. Good bc diversity is awesome!! Bad bc some kids could be very mean to someone who stands out or is different from the rest)
