When did you tell work?

I just started an EVS position with our local hospital full time and just found out im pregnant with a surprise baby! When do i tell work??

I told my manager right away because working in Healthcare i had to change how I did some things (I was 5 weeks). I planned to wait until 12 weeks to tell coworkers but I had severe severe morning sickness and ended up having to take some days off, I was on bedrest for a short time etc... so most of my coworkers knew by the time I was 8 or 9 weeks haha.

Generally up to you. I usually wait till after 12 weeks. This time I waited a little longer because my annual review was coming up and I didn’t want that to affect it. But I show pretty early so I can’t wait too long usually!

I always tell work when I am 34 weeks. They then have 6 weeks to figure out what to do while I am out. Except that one pregnancy I had at 30 weeks and I just took everyone by surprise. 😂 I choose to not tell work early. And I choose to not tell family and friends until the baby is 5 months old. Everyone has different preferences. Do whatever works best for you. Congratulations to you on your pregnancy! ❤️🍼
