Does scratching your belly cause stretch marks?

soooooo I don’t know if that has any merit, but I’d err on the side of caution, but i’ve never had stretch marks, so i’m not sure.  Apply lotion when you feel itchy!

Stretch marks are totally genetic. No scratching will cause them to happen. And nothing you can do will stop them from happening. Not applying cocoa butter or strivectin or any other lotion or cream.

Of course not, stretch marks happen in the much deeper layers of skin- which is why no creams or oils can prevent them, because they can’t reach the deeper layers of skin. Scratching cannot cause stretch marks, stretch marks are stretched skin not scratched skin

It doesn’t cause them but I’ve heard it makes existing ones worse.

Not for me. Mine got pretty itchy and I scratched a lot at points with all four of my pregnancies and I've never gotten stretch marks.

Stretch marks are a genetic thing actually some people are just more likely to get them then others. Use lotion to help with the itching though.
