DO I need to be induced if I’m already dilated?
I’m having a horrible time at the moment with misinformation! With doctors and midwife!
These are my questions-
1. If I am dilated do I no longer need to be induced and let baby come naturally?
2. Do I need to be dilated for an induction?
3. Is it unnecessary to be induced if I’m dilated?
Back story: my consultant gave me the option of induction between 39-40weeks. her reason being is because baby is weighing big, I don’t agree. She told me to ask the midwife to examine me to see if I am dilated before making a decision, the midwife refused to see if I was dilated on Wednesday (39weeks5days) because her reason was I’m under 40weeks.
I gave up and felt hopeless, asked her to book me in for an induction for Saturday (40weeks1day) which is now booked. She told me they will see if I am dilated. I’m hoping I am dilated at some degree so I don’t have to have the induction and let him come soon. ( so really I have only booked the induction to just be examined by nurses to see if I am dilating )
I feel so failed and alone and mistreated and that I have been told what to do in my pregnancy instead of being helped with how I want me pregnancy to go, I feel so lost.
