Is Kindle worth buying?

I really like reading actual books but I’ve been thinking if Kindle would be worth buying in the long term. It has its advantages for sure, any recommendations from people using it?

Not sure if this is a factor for you, but it was for me….if you’re someone who reads a good amount of books per year, then a kindle is better for the environment. Less physical waste. Also less bulky and really convenient

I do enjoy reading physical books but the convenience of a kindle is really nice lol like if you’re reading a series and don’t have the next book you can get it instantly on your kindle instead of having to go find it in stores or ordering a book online. Also it’s not bulky like a book so if you want to read while out it’s not as much to carry around.

I love physical books but I use the library for ebooks often and so for me, the Kindle is great. I also have a shared library with my grandma and mom so there's tons of books for me to read for free. If I had to buy ebooks all the time, I likely wouldn't use it much.

It’s nice to not have to store books when you are done reading. Plus it’s  nice if you are reading a series to just get on and buy the next book instead of going to the store or ordering a copy. I still prefer real books though. Plus in my mind the ebooks should be a lot cheaper than an actual book and they aren’t

I just wanted to check what others were saying..
I do read a lot on my phone but then it's like internet and whatever.. as I don't have kindle or any other book app.. but there's an extra dimension to physical books that make me come to rest that I really don't have with reading on the screen (especially on my phone where you have notifications etc..).
I have bought the books I enjoy most and I go to a physical library from time to time for me and our kid.
for my growing toddler I also like folding and sensory books.. So there's no benefit from online reading for him.

I have a 3 soon to be 4 yr old boy for me a kindle is so much more practical than physical books because boys can be soooo rough on books but this way i can devour as many books as i want without them being damaged. I was also able to watch a movie on a short flight back in December on my kindle so that's a plus for me as well.

I guess it just depends on how much you like e-books. I, for example, prefer physical books. I'm not completely against e-books and have read them before, but certainly not enough to justify buying a kindle. I read so few of them that in fine with just reading them on my phone. If you don't read e-books much yet, maybe read a few e-books on the Kindle app for your phone just to see how much you enjoy e-books.
