My daughter is 14 months old, she just went overnight w her dad for the first time last week. This man denied her as his up until she was 10 months old, he went 6 months straight without seeing her and when he did see her it was once or twice a month. I was hesitant about overnights but wanted to be nice and I let her go w him. When I picked her back up I opened his car door to get her out and the whole car smelt like weed, and later on when I opened her diaper bag everything inside smelt like it too. I don’t care that he smokes, but it is illegal where we live and I don’t want him smoking it in the car w my toddler. He’s acting like I’m being dramatic and that it’s not a big deal but w her smelling like that I’m afraid it would come back on me. I’m hesitant about letting her go back w him bc if he refuses to not do this one thing around her that I ask then who knows what else he would expose her to that i’m not okay w. Am I being dramatic or what? I’m not sure what to do in this situation bc obviously she isn’t old enough to tell me what’s going on at her dads yet, but I really don’t want him smoking around her anymore.
