What do you do for work?

What do you do for work and would you recommend it? I’m trying to find something that pays well, that isn’t too stressful and not 10+ years of schooling. It’s hard because it seems like there’s so many options but none at the same time.

Biomedical research. I got lucky with 2 year vet tech degree and worked my way up. 13 years in and I make 110k. I started low, got lucky, leveraged what I learned on the job, took cross country assignments and available learning opportunities including college program reimbursement to get where I am. What I do isn’t rocket science. It requires patience, the ability to handle mice, follow written instructions, and be willing to learn. I love my job and can’t fathom doing anything else.

I work at a call center, and no, I don't recommend it. The pay and benefits are pretty good which is why I stay. Don't require any education other than a HS degree.

Paralegal with the gov. We’ll over 6 fig a year. Year long schooling. It’s not for everyone though

Currently I am a retail team lead. I might be weird but I love it!  Pay is garbage but over minimum wage technically. 
I am in college, third semester of the developmental services worker program, going through to be an Educational Assistant and/or mental health worker.

I do ultrasound. It pays well 50+ an hour with times over 100 an hour.

I’m a security guard for a small company. $25/hr to sit in a company vehicle in the mountains. I watch Netflix and take naps. I wouldn’t recommend it because it’s hard on my body.

I work at a daycare, the pay is terrible $10 an hour. I love the kids though so I would hate to quit, I would miss them way too much. I also get to take my kids to daycare for free so that’s a plus

I work in a federal prison. I make $50,000 and there is always room for promotion and different departments to go into. I make that now because I started a year ago. Amazing insurance, benefits, and retirement. The different departments are endless in different institutions. You can move anywhere in the US with this job work any level security (I work at a low security so the crimes they committed are minor)
There is education, case manager, safety, health services, business office, you name it! You have to be under 36 but you can retire after 20 years if you’re 50 and 25 years at any age. I will retire at 44. It is not for everyone, but it is not bad at all!
