A break down of MSD parkland shooting PART 3
DISCLAIMER: I took this from Reddit. Im posting this here to spread interest in the trial of nikolas Cruz where they’re deciding life in prison or death row.
I know they added it, but major trigger warning ⚠️⚠️
I will also be correcting a few things that I learned while watching the trial and interviews from the victims.
Credit will be given to original posters.
The original post added pictures, but I will only be coming back to show a few that are edited where you cannot see bodies. The links do not work. Even on Reddit some of the links do not work
Part 3
At 2:25:01pm, Jaime Guttenberg, 14, is shot in the back through her spinal cord. She manages to make it a few steps into the stairwell before collapsing, dying soon after. Peter Wang, 15, holds the stairwell door open for students so they could escape. He is shot a total of twelve times and dies from a gunshot to the head.
At 2:25:10pm, [Deputy Kratz radios that he hears gunshots by the football field northwest of Building 12.furthering the confusion as to where the shooter is.
At 2:25:14pm, Meadow Pollack, now using her body to try to shield the still-frozen Cara Loughran, plays dead on top of her. Cruz shoots her multiple times anyway, the bullets passing through her into Loughran, killing them both. According to her father, Pollack was shot a total of nine times. Five of those bullets pass through into Loughran.
At 2:25:18pm, Joaquin Oliver remains in an alcove, unable to walk due to his injury, nor get into the locked third floor bathroom to hide. Cruz approaches him, and according to a witness, shoots him “ten times” in his leg before finally killing him with a shot to the head. Oliver is the final person to be killed.
At 2:25:30pm, Cruz attempts to enter the stairwell. He is unable to due to Rospierski blocking the door with his foot.
[ Rospierski holds the stairwell door shut with his foot. Cruz can be seen through the window, circled in red. Jaime Guttenberg’s body \(censored\) lies a few feet from Rospierski. ]
⭕️will be adding this because this SIMPLE action saved the lives of many, A SHOE TO THE DOOR and her body is completely marked out so you can’t see⭕️
At 2:25:35pm, Cruz attempts to shoot through the windows of a teacher’s lounge at fleeing students, but is unable to due to the windows being hurricane-proof.
[Teacher’s lounge window where Cruz attempted to shoot fleeing students outside. Nobody was hit due to the windows being hurricane-proof.]
At 2:25:38pm, [Peterson radios for the school to be locked down]He does not engage the shooter, nor encourage or order the now-present armed personnel to enter the building.
At 2:26:07pm, four more Broward county officers arrive on scene, stopping north of the campus. Despite hearing gunshots from Cruz in the teacher’s lounge, they remain off campus near their cars.
At 2:27:03pm, Sgt. Brian Miller arrives on scene and stops north of Building 12. He is the highest ranking officer on scene, but does not move from his car nor order deputies to engage the shooter. He hides behind his car and puts on a bulletproof vest, and does not communicate with anybody via radio for ten minutes. There are now eight armed people on campus, but none engage the shooter.
At 2:27:10pm, Cruz fires the final shot of the massacre in the teacher’s lounge. [This shot can be heard on police bodycam footage]
At 2:27:54pm, [Cruz blends into a crowd of fleeing students and escapes Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. He leaves his rifle vest and weapon in a stairwell. Police still believe he is inside. Cruz spent three minutes and five seconds total on the third floor.
⭕️he runs like a fucking knob but this is correct
At 2:28pm, Peterson tells the armed officers on campus to [remain at least 500 feet away from Building 12
At 2:32:42pm, about four minutes since Cruz left the school, Coral Springs officers enter Building 12. Two officers immediately notice the gravely wounded Chris Hixon and load him onto a golf cart to be given medical aid. He dies on the way.
At 2:34:11pm, Peterson radios that the shooter is on the second or third floor of the building. In reality, Cruz has been gone for over six minutes.
[First responders ⭕️SWAT evacuate the first floor of Marjory Stoneman Douglas
At 2:40:16pm, about twenty minutes since the shooting began, a mass evacuation of the school is ordered. There is no exact timeline of when each classroom was evacuated, but below are important pieces of media from the evacuation or moments before it that do **NOT** contain deceased child victims:(these are in the original Reddit post)
At \~2:40pm, Cruz walks west on Holmberg Rd to a Walmart and buys a drink at a Subway located inside.
At 2:53:40pm, Cruz leaves Walmart and heads to a nearby McDonald’s near by.
At \~2:55pm, Cruz heads south on Coral Ridge Rd and enters a McDonalds. He converses with people there, some of which being escaped students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas. He is allegedly looking for a ride. He sits by one student, John Wilford, whose sister was critically injured in the shooting. Wilford later claims that Cruz was “very pushy” when asking for a ride. Wilford would later leave without Cruz.
At 2:57:59pm, officers on the third floor retrieve Cruz’s gun and vest as they come across the body of Jaime Guttenberg.
[First responders come across the body of Jaime Guttenberg, as well as the weapon used to kill her.]
At 3:01pm, Cruz leaves the McDonald’s and continues to walk toward a residential area.
Chaos remains at the school, where officers are still looking for the shooter who they believe is still in the building. Sometime between now and Cruz’s arrest, officers receive a tip about someone matching the shooter’s description being spotted at a McDonald’s. Some officers familiar with the area he was spotted in head to the area to look for him.
At 3:17:45pm, the final classroom in Building 12 is evacuated.
At 3:41pm, Cruz is arrested by Coconut Creek police after being spotted by officer Michael Leonard. [Bodycam captures him claiming there are demons and voices in his head, and asking what happened]). He is taken to a hospital soon after for “labored breathing” and nausea, and is released back into police custody soon afterwards.
Nikolas Cruz spent six minutes and nine seconds inside of Building 12. He killed 17 people (14 students, 3 teachers) and wounded 17 others, some critically. He never entered one classroom. Cruz is currently on trial, and faces the possibility of the death penalty when convicted.
[The victims, which consisted of 9 freshmen, 2 juniors, 3 seniors, and 3 staff members
