Do you agree w/this punishment??

I think it’s really outdated & abusive. I believe there are better ways to teach your child. My Mom did this to me alot as a child & it was traumatic. Plus ingesting soap could hurt your body/make you sick. Putting toxins in your child’s body is wrong. My son has been getting in trouble at his private school for saying “chicken butt”, “poop/pee” & something about putting someone’s head in the toilet. Yes that last one was inappropriate for him to say. It’s a catholic school so those words are a big deal there. He’s 6 years old. His Father & I are divorced & he told me that he washed his mouth with soap last night & it really upset me. I’m not ok with this at all & I’m asking him to find a better way to discipline him. I’ve got him starting behavior therapy tomorrow so we all can learn. He’s got some behavioral problems especially with listening so I’m really hoping this will help him & us. What do you all think about soap in the mouth as a punishment especially for a 6 year old?? It’s hurting me to know he went through that 😞
