Lock the door at night! AITA?
Do you lock the door at night? Do you expect your SO to do the same? Are you ripshit if they don’t? Does it depend on your location?
We currently live in an apartment complex in suburban sprawl that used to be a nice neighborhood and now is overpriced crappy houses and apartment complexes. I expect the door to be locked each night after my husband takes the dog out (he is up later than I am and takes the dog out most nights, I am up in the morning to the dog out early after he eats. It works for our schedules). Twice this week, it has been unlocked when I have gone to take the dog out in the morning. Am I wrong to be incredibly frustrated that he doesn’t uphold this basic standard? The only time we have left the door unlocked was when we lived in the middle of nowhere and the neighbor was popping over to walk the dog. It had ALWAYS been locked at night when we are home. Like, you come in from last walk and lock the door on your way in. AITA for being really mad about this? We are in an area where catalytic converters are stolen frequently, and the number of suspicious persons reports being in backyards etc are taking over the neighborhood app. I really don’t think I have wildly unattainable expectations here.
