I have mold…lots of it. We remove the tray after every cycle, and ALWAYS leave the washer door open so it can air out. We run an affresh load every couple of months too to clean it all out. Im about to get a top load washing machine so I don’t have to deal with this annoying problem anymore. Is this common with front load washing machines?

We just replaced our front load with a top load for this exact reason! Called Samsung and they said it’s impossible to not get mold in a front load machine!

I have had mine for 2 years and never had an issue 🤷🏼‍♀️ I use bleach for whites and vinegar for towels so I think that helps.

My last cycle on laundry day I run a bleach cycle with towels, then leave it open to air dry. That should take care of any moldy slimy issues

It's very common, it's one of the many reasons I didn't buy a frontloader when we upgraded the old machines in our new house

I am so happy to see this post because we’ve had our front loader washer and dryer set since 2018 and it’s constantly gotten mold and it has drove me crazy because I thought it was something we were doing￼

It's extremely common. It's also extremely common for them to leak. It's why we went with a top loader when we replaced our last washer. When we had a repairman to look at our old washer (before decided it was too expensive to replace), I asked his opinion if I were to replace. He recommended against a front loader because he said they all grow mold at some point and that almost all of them will leak before their life cycle is over.
