Bipolar cheating

I been dating a guy since January of 2021. He has mental illness depression and bipolar. He had early episodes of chatting inappropriatly with other women and meeting up with then. He was always sorry and I forgave him

Things were great for a while. This year he has had a few different times where he has had episodes of doing drugs and whatever and disappearing where I have to wonder where he is. When he's in the good moods he's my best friend and we are great but this last weekend he went online talking to others sexually did drugs cheated on me and I didn't know where he was for almost 24 hours. He ended up going to a mental hospital to try to get help. I decided I was done cuz I don't want a man who does drugs ever and don't want to be cheated on. He tried to blame the cheating on being bipolar. So I was wondering if breaking up with him over what he did this weekend was justified on my part or if I should somehow accept it because I love him and he has mental issues.
