My boyfriend said he was “getting drinks with the guys” but a girl he just followed on Instagram today posted a story of the same place that he did.. should I be upset/suspicious?

Since you’re stalking her stories, I’d say you already have major trust issues so you’re going to worry either way. What will a poll do?

I cannot even imagine being with someone who I have such little trust in that I 
1. Check who he’s following
2. Know exactly what day he followed a new person and 
3. Check the stories of new people he follows 
This is ridiculous. You do not trust him. There is no point to this relationship. 
As for should you be suspicious? I wouldn’t be, but I also wouldn’t be in this situation. If my SO told me he was going out with the guys and I found out there was a girl at the same bar as them, I wouldn’t care.

If he’s not a trustworthy person, then it could be suspicious. But if you trust him, then you might be overthinking it.

I’d say it depends on the boundaries you have set within your relationship. I know my BF would not want me talking to someone enough to exchange IG’s, but you also don’t know the nature of the conversation, it could be a friend of a friend. I wouldn’t overthink it, and when you go searching for things you’ll always find something to worry about. If you really trust him you shouldn’t need to do those things.

If he has reason for you to be so called suspicious such as he's a cheater in the past or something like that then yeah maybe that's something to consider a possibility... On the other hand it could just be one of those coincidences where people run into each other unintentionally, I mean she has a right to go to the same bar! Why are you suspicious tho, your own insecurities? But most of all stalker behavior is creepy asf and if she finds out can put a restraining order on you for stalking her.
