4cm… no contractions?

Question

I was 4cm yesterday at my appt and still don’t have strong or consistent contractions. Anybody else? When should I go in since I’m already so dilated? 36 weeks, STM!

My OB told me with her last she sat at 5 cm for weeks and had to be induced and my mind was a little blown away by that. I was def in labor at 4 cm with my last. The bright side is you're a lot closer to the finish line when they do start!

I wouldn’t go anywhere till your water breaks or your contractions are consistently 5 minutes apart for an hour
You can be dilated for weeks before going into labor.

I wouldn’t go until you literally can not do anything through the contractions. I just left the hospital with very consistent contractions coming every 3-4 min. Never dilated past a 3 so I was sent home. Doctor told me I could stay like this for hours, days, or weeks. So I won’t be going back until I am absolutely positive I am in active labor. I’m 37 weeks exactly today.
