Is Harry Potter a good book? Im thinking of reading it

If you like YA or Children's fantasy, it is. I liked the series as a child. But as an adult who reads fantasy instead of ya fantasy, I can say I doubt I would enjoy the Harry Potter series as an adult if I hadn't read it as a child and didn't have the nostalgia factor.

I enjoyed it as a child but am not into it now. YA is alright but I prefer fantasy and scifi aimed at older adults. Also, I refuse to give any more money to JK Rowling so there is that, but if I were interested in some more of her work I would get ot from the library or secondhand :)
I really enjoyed book 4 when I read it :)
