Ovulation Detectives Needed

So using the fertility friendly app and it has pegged my ovulation to have been on CD12 (seems early but it’s my first month using OPKs so could be normal).

But I’m curious… doesn’t ovulation typically take place 12-48 hours AFTER a LH surge? In which case… couldn’t I have ovulated on CD13 when my temp spiked above the coverline?
