Need advise, abandon EBF?

Question

So, my baby is just 8 days old, my hubby and I had planed to do BF and pumping so he could give bub the bottle, but in the hospital they said wait at least a month to introduce the bottle. This was a change in our plans but we went with it, baby had a tongue tie and I suffered a lot for some days until they cut it and now it’s improving. The thing is my baby wants to be on the boob all day long and my hubby has barely any time with him, just diaper changing and he is getting depressed because he doesn’t know how to bond, the baby only wants to be with me. 
Should we go with our original plans or keep waiting until baby is a month old to introduce the bottle?? 
It hurts to see him so sad and I can’t do anything all day long because I have the baby attached to my chest. :(

Baby is cluster feeding and should be on the boob all the time. Pumping and a bottle should absolutely be avoided during this time. Both pumping and bottle should be avoided until a minimum of 6wks. Especially pumping on top of nursing as doing that can easily create an over supply and cause a lot of problems. You will create more stress and more work for yourself when putting pumping and bottles and what not all on top of nursing. It’s 💯 easier to just nurse. 
The hospital is absolutely correct with what they said. Your original plan is really not feasible for supply regulation and baby’s cluster feeding.

No pumping or bottles until 6w when your supply has regulated.
Babe is clusterfeeding which is vital for supply regulation, as well as, growth and development.
Feeding babe is NOT the only way dad can bond! 
Dad can be doing tummy time! Lap lay, tummy down carry, and laying on the chest are all great contact tummy time exercises!

Dad can be doing skin to skin!
Dad can be doing diaper changes.
Dad can be doing bath time.
Dad can do the burping after feeds.
Dad can baby wear for contact naps. 
Don’t ruin your supply because he thinks feeding babe is the only way to bond. 
Even when you do introduce a bottle, make sure you pump every time babe gets a bottle.

I would not abandon breastfeeding my baby for that reason. Breastfeeding is so so important for those first months, its completely normal for your baby to only want to be on your chest, your husband can still be right next to both of you snuggling, doing eye to eye contact(we would do if all the time and we bonded soo much with his daddy it was such a special moment) helping you snack, watching a movie , helping with diaper changes, etc. He doesn’t have to be “bottle feeding him” to actually bond.

keep the original plans no man should ever dictate a woman breastfeeding.. it's only a month why can't your husband just wait it out? also cluster won't last long so he will be able to have more cuddles soon. husband could do bath time with baby as his special bonding time even have baby in the shower or bath with him

Do whatever is best for you and your family. While there are other ways to bond with baby, such as bathtime, books, tummy time, dancing, holding them, etc, you should absolutely feed your baby the way YOU want to. They say fed is best for a reason. 
I exclusively pump and love it. It was my plan before birth. I never wanted to latch but always wanted to provide breastmilk. I went into EP with an open mind and expectation of what it would be like and I know that's not always the case; I'm an exception on that front. 
When I had my son, they said the same thing- baby would extract better. I conceded and attempted to feed from the boob. However, baby had an extreme tongue tie and wound up on formula his first day. I wound up pumping anyway and all of the sudden, pumping was up to the LCs expectations 😒. 
I see so many moms on here, on reddit, IG, etc spilt the breast and bottle from day 1 because that's what works for them. As long as you've made an informed decision, go ahead and try pumping/bottle feeding.

My husband has an incredible bond with our child, and he BF until he was 3.5 years old. There are
So so many ways a parent can bond other than feed. He will form an amazing relationship. Don't stress and carry on nursing, the bottle won't magically create a bond

I introduced a bottle before one month with my babies and nursed plenty, and have not had issues with refusing the breast. Breastfeeding is about what works for you and baby as a team

Do not abandon breastfeeding. You will be glad to have a solid breastfeeding routine instead of running the risk of your supply dropping for no reason.
As for the bonding. My husband went through this and was STILL like this when he could bottle feed our first. Dads and babies take time to bond. The problem is that your baby is only going to really love you for a while. He needs to reset his expectations a bit. He probably will not bond with his baby until the baby is a few months old. Please don’t do anything silly trying to get around this natural slower process. Don’t try to force anything between them, and let him take over more play things when the baby is old enough to play. Pregnant with our fourth now and my husband is beloved by our first three but he did not bond with them until they were out of newborn phase. We tried to force bonding with our first and it just drove my husband into a serious depression with the constant rejection. Please have him focus on helping you and providing fun for you, and bond with baby when it’s older.
