Will I go over?

If I was a little over 1cm dilated at my 37 week appointment, is there any telling if I’ll go past my due date or not? They said they could feel his head right there and cervix feels soft as well. I’m hoping this means I won’t go past 40 weeks 😭 I’ll be 38 weeks on Monday.

I was 2 cm from 37 weeks ended up having my baby at 43 weeks it really is not a clear indication you will have baby early

That’s really not a good indicator. It’s common to sit at 1 cm for weeks and be able to feel the head.

I’m 39+2 with my 4th baby and I’ve been at 4cm since 38 weeks.

Cm dilation really means nothing until you’re in active labor.

There's no way to tell, you can stay dilated at a certain point for weeks before labor begins. Or you can be at 0cm and literally give birth later that day. All a cervical check tells you is what your cervix looks like in that moment.

No way to tell. I was 3 cm dilated and 80% effaced for about 3 weeks before I had my son. He was born at 40+5. I was extremely impatient at the time, but know your body will do what it needs to do when both body and baby are ready!

My water broke at 38 weeks but I was 0 cm dilated.  Not sure it means anything

I don’t think so. I was 1cm at over 39 weeks, then had my son at exactly 40 weeks

Unfortunately there's no way to tell. I was 1cm with my first at 36 weeks. With my second as well. But both of them came close to 42weeks

Since 32 weeks I've had a short soft cervix and they could feel his head. At 37 weeks I was the same but also 1cm dilated. Now I'm 40 weeks and no signs of him coming yet. I've had a few contractions now and then.
