How would this make you guys feel- your husband tells you he doesn’t ask you to cook, or ask for anything in particular rather, because he says he doesn’t want you to ask him for anything back (i.e. help with the baby, cleanup, other favors)??? Doesn’t that sound extremely selfish? Hold on…it can’t be selfish because he’s not asking for anything 😂 so what is this?

you shouldn’t have to ask your husband for basic partner tasks. it’s not “helping”. he’s a partner and a parent.

Help with HIS baby? Clean up of HIS house? These are not YOUR tasks to ask for help with. They belong to both of you. So he’s basically claiming all household duties as your job and saying he’s of the hook because he doesn’t ask you to help him with anything? Gaslit much?

Any sane responsible adult knows that parenting, cooking, cleaning, and household chores are shared responsibilities. This sounds more like two roommates than an equal partnership where you’re both equally supportive of the other.
