Small baby at 38 weeks.

Just given today vaginally. It is a VBAC but came with an emotional roller coaster. I was not gaining weight at 37 weeks then losing weight at 38 weeks. Couldn't see anything wrong in ultrasound but I HD the option to be induced. And so I did. Turns out baby had a short umbilical cord. I always felt a tugging on my right side during pregnancy and never with my first. Always felt something was off. Luckily the short umbilical cord didn't cause my placenta to abrupt. I think the tugging was from that. I could have internal bleeding and not knew! Anyone who is going through no weight gain at last few weeks of pregnancy, please be aware! It isn't wrong all the time but mine was not right. Getting induced was the best decision. Although starting pitocin didn't really help with the dilation. Was stuck at 3cm for awhile. Doctor suggested to increase the dosage and take epidural. Since less pain equals less stress and faster dilation. Something baby needed so I went for it. From 10am we started and baby was out at 5pm. Only weighing 2.45kg due to the short umbilical cord. Otherwise healthy. Just hope that any mama out there that is going through this, doesn't feel alone. I felt extreme guilt over the low birth weight but it is something beyond my control. I had to remind myself that I am healthy and so is baby. That is all that matters. Thanks for reading my birth story
