Do you believe everything happens for a reason?

I was dating this guy for a while and he lives about 1.5 hours away. Well I ended up finding out that he was married and had kids. I immediately cut things off with him and left it at that. This happened at the beginning of summer. I have been talking to someone new that lives in my same town. I seen yesterday that he commented on someone’s Facebook photo. It was a photo of that guy and his wife! I asked him how he knows them and he said he’s good high school friends with the wife. Should I tell him how I know them? If I tell him I’m sure he’s going to tell the wife since it’s his friend. It just seems like such a weird situation and I feel like I’m meant to tell her what happened because what are the odds that he’s good friends with this woman that lives 1.5 away!
