Is it sexist if a male friend says, "That's woman behavior, like that's petty", when you tell him something dumb a male customer did?

I have a hard time telling when I'm just being overly sensitive or if I'm being reasonable. When I asked, "What did you say?" after he said that he just repeated what he said as if he didn't say anything wrong. I've never known him to be sexist in any way, but he didn't say he was joking nor did he sound like he was joking. I'm a pretty sensitive person so I just want to know what y'all think.

it is sexist but a lot of people say sexist things without trying to be sexist “grow a pair” “don’t be a pussy” “don’t be a bitch” etc. just say that’s sexist and if he argues with you then you’ll see how he truly feels about women.
